
Maersk line announced increases in Asia and Africa route freight rate

In the past two years between east Asia and Africa container freight volume has increased by 13.8%, Maersk (Maersk Line) has announced to raise the asia-africa route freight rate. According to World Trade Services statistics, China's export goods to Africa by 2 million TEU growth in 2012 to 2014, 2.4 million TEU, up 14.4%, this year is expected to more than 2.5 million TEU. In Africa, Chinese imports by 187000 TEU growth in 2012 to $2014 by 327000 TEU, grew by 12.2%, this year is expected to reach 350000 TEU. Glass, non-metallic products, textiles and pottery is China's main export Africa goods, products, cotton and vegetables, metals and metal products is the staple of African Chinese imports. Japan's export goods in Africa by 82000 TEU growth in 2013 to $2014 by 112000 TEU, grew by 26.6%, but import growth is slow. South Korea imports from Africa amount although fell slightly in 2013, but after maintaining stable growth, continue to steady growth this year, the export to Africa cargo roughly the same performance.
